Get to know Dr. Muller

“A dental practitioner with more than 36 years' experience, that believes in ethics and aesthetics.”

 

Born and bred in Stellenbosch Dr. Muller was a Paul Roos Gymnasium scholar who, after matriculating, headed to Stellenbosch University to obtain his Bachelors in Dentistry & Dental Surgery degree in 1989.

 

After graduating, he began his career as a dentist in the South African National Defence Force. Dr. Muller expanded his knowledge and experience base by gaining international experience as a dental practitioner and in the field of anaesthesiology in Reading, United Kingdom. After returning to South Africa he established a dental practice in Durbanville and since 2005 joined Stellenbosch Dental Studio as a partner.

 

Dr. Muller is a member of various dental associations including: 

  • South African Dental Association 1989

  • British Dental Association 1990

  • Medical Defense Union (UK) 1990

  • Dental Protection (SA) 1998

  • HPCSA 1998

Dr. Corrie Muller

Inside the Practice

Dr. Muller has a conservative approach on dental care where the prime needs of each patient is paramount. Dr. Muller is committed to treat each and every patient honestly and fairly and what he is not qualified to do, his patients will receive the best specialist recommendation.Ethics and aesthetics is at the heart of the practice’s approach and Dr. Muller aims to see smiles all around. He is known for his warm and caring approach and ability to make everyone, from young to old, feel welcome, relaxed and completely at ease in his dentist chair.

The focus of Dr. Muller’s interest and dental expertise include: 

  • General family practice: to create a relaxed dental surgery atmosphere.

  • Aesthetic treatments: veneers, implant & external bleaching.

  • Dental phobia: modern methods to overcome anxiety in the dental surgery.

 

Outside the Practice

Dr. Muller is a fifth generation Stellenbosch citizen. He is married to Sulinda, a Stellenbosch clothes shop owner and together they have three boys Bethel, James and Richard. He is an avid sports fan with his favourite being mountain biking, and has several Cape Epic titles under his belt. 

 

Dr. Muller’s life motto:

“Be happy, have fun and make sound, moral decisions!” is evident in everything he does.

Get to know Dr. Neethling

“My work motto is to provide dental care that I will find acceptable in my own mouth.  Every procedure should make me proud.” Dr Neethling

Dr Neethling  graduated his Bachelors of Science Degree in Dentistry from the University of Stellenbosch in 1990. Although he started studying Medicine he changed over to Dentistry, which offers an opportunity to be more expressive with his hands. He began his career in the South African National Defence Force working at the South African Coloured Corps in Eersterivier, Oudshoorn Infantry School and also at the Military Hospital in Wynberg. From there he branched out in to private practice, working as a dentist in United Kingdom for nearly eleven years in the National Health Service, in Clacton-on-Sea, Essex. After returning to South Africa he started working at Stellenbosch Dental Studio in 2003. His history with the practice dates back to receiving treatment in this practice as a first year student in 1983!

 

Dr. Neethling is a member of various dental associations, including: 

  • Health Professional Council

  • South African Dental Association

  • Dental Protection Society

Dr. Henco Neethling

Inside the Practice

Dr Neethling focus on providing quality dental treatment to all his patients. Although he is a private dentist, Dr Neethling endeavours to accommodate the less affluent patients as well and believes that nobody should be excluded from receiving treatment of excellence, because they cannot afford it. He is known to have a honest and caring approach to all his patients offering quality dental treatments and spending quality time on each patient on merit.

 

“ Teeth are only a small part of us humans, however it plays a huge role in how we feel, our self confidence and all over well being.It gives me great satisfaction to be able to contribute to the well-being of the complete person by giving him/her a better smile.” Dr Neethling

 

 

Dr Neethling’s dental field of interest is general dentistry, simply because it offers scope to do all the different treatments in the dental spectrum. Of particular interests are:

  • Restorative dentistry

  • Endodontic treatment

  • Crowns and bridges

  • Oral surgery (removal of wisdom teeth)

 

Outside the Practice

Dr Neethling grew up in Johannesburg and matriculated at Helpmekaar Boys High in 1982. Since returning from overseas the Neethling family lives in Somerset West. Dr. Neethling is married to a medical doctor, Lida and has two sons, Henk and Deon. Dr Neethling enjoys working with his hands and being creative and has a keen interest in DIY projects and gardening and are also very fond of travelling and exploring new places.

 

Dr. Neethling lives by his motto:

Dr. Tarina Terheyden

Locum Dentist

B Ch D (Stell) 2002

Dr Tarina Terheyden is originally from Pretoria but completed her Dental studies at the University of Stellenbosch in 2002. Dr Terheyden started her career in private practice in Pretoria and then moved to Lichtenburg in the NorthWest Province where she lived and worked in private practice for 10 years. In 2015 She moved back to her favourite Province where she worked in various Somerset West Practices as a locum dentist.
 

Dr Terheyden loves doing family dentistry and also attended courses in clear aligners; an alternative to conventional Ortho.

She is currently practising as a locum dentist in Somerset West and Stellenbosch.

Hanlie Van Niekerk

Oral Hygienist

At Stellenbosch Dental Studio, Hanlie van Niekerk brings over 15 years of expertise and a genuine passion for dentistry. Qualified in 2005, she believes that prevention is better than cure when it comes to oral health. With an eye for detail and a commitment to helping patients achieve clean, beautiful smiles, Hanlie motivates her patients to maintain excellent oral care routines.

​

A proud mother of two, Hanlie lives in Somerset West with her husband and children. When she’s not caring for her patients, you’ll find her enjoying her other passion – running.

Corné du Toit

Front Office Manager

"I am always excited about welcoming patients into our practice. We have been serving the community since 2003, and it's always been our goal to provide our patients with the best service possible."

Everyone knows and appreciates Corné’s beautiful welcoming smile. She enjoys the constant interaction with our patients and putting the most nervous patient at ease. Corné is an integral part of the team here at Stellenbosch Dental Studio for 11 years and in charge of all our patient appointments, accounts, and answering any questions you may have. She takes great pride in ensuring that each and everyone visiting the practice receives the personal attention they deserve, whatever their needs may be.

 

When Corné  is not working she enjoys spending time with my family and friends

Sinazo Sandla

Dental Assistant

"It's the most rewarding feeling to know that every day I am able to help people of all ages feel more confident and live a healthier life because of the care I have given them."

As a dental assistant, she helps our doctors prepare patients for their treatments, assist during each treatment, maintain a clean, sterile environment, and help answer any questions that our patients may have. Working with a team of dentists that completes each treatment with the most precision and attention to detail is why she truly love and feel confident being a part of this practice.

Dental Assistant

"Being a dental assistant is rewarding to me, because I get to meet different patients and help them regain their smile."

I've been a dental assistant for Dr. Muller for six years and have a total of ten years of experience in the field. I also hold a Diploma in Medical Coding and Billing and a Certificate in Introduction to Office and Administrative Management.

 

Being a dental assistant means much more than just assisting, I love the variety of each day, the different patients, and the unique cases. It provides many rewarding moments, especially when I help someone regain their smile. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family.
